Blekko.com a start up search engine had updated with new algorithm
changes called "AdSpam algorithm" which will detect the web page for
potential singles of any spam before indexing, if it's found any spam
signals that page or domain is block listed which means that domains
no where going to be visible in search results of blekko.
Using this algorithm Blekko already block listed 1.1 million domains.

Google To Bring Down The Search Rankings Of Sites With Pages Of Poor Quality

Google has released a significant change in their search algorithms and re-designed to guide the ranking of search sites with a page or two of poor quality. Google has called the content sites of poor agricultural quality. To start, Google has introduced this change in the U.S. and will expand to other years. Google says that their goal is simply to give people the most important answers to questions as quickly as possible and ensure that the quality of the results allows the company to improve the Google search box.

Amit Singhal, Google fellow, and Matt Cutts, senior engineer at Google, said: "This update is designed to reduce the range of low-quality sites, sites that are of little value to add users to copy content from other sites or sites that is not only very useful. They also give a better ranking of quality websites with original content and data, such as research, in-depth reporting, analysis, reflection, and so on.

According to Google, they will significantly change the power of 11.8 percent of searches on Google.com. "Google depends on high-quality content created by the wonderful sites around the world and we have a responsibility to promote a healthy ecosystem web. It is therefore important for places of high quality to be rewarded and that's exactly what this amendment does, "the company said.

New Feature Coming Soon to Google Labs

The new feature coming soon to Google Labs. It's called "Google Squared"
What is Google Squared?
Google Squared is launching later this month in labs. Google Squared returns search results in a spreadsheet format. It structures the unstructured data on web pages. So a search for Small Dogs returns results with names, description, size, weight, origin, etc., in columns and rows.

Google is looking for data structures on the web that imply facts, and then grabbing it for Squared results.
